Central Illinois festival is in heart of Amish country
Rockome Gardens near Arcola, Ill., will host its 13th annual Bluegrass Music Festival on Aug. 18-19.
The Gardens, a tourist attraction in the middle of east central Illinois Amish country, is 5 miles west of I-57, exit 203.
Concerts will be presented daily rain or shine, from noon to 6 p.m. Scheduled to appear are David Davis & the Warrior River Boys from Alabama, New River Line from Tennessee, The Park Family from Kansas, The Wright Sisters from Indiana, Kati Penn Band from Kentucky, Chris Hill Band from Ohio and The Bankester Family from Illinois.
Daily admission is $12 for adults, children ages 4-12 years half price, and children 4 & under free. A two-day pass is available for $20 with discounted rates for children. Admission fee includes all of Rockome’s attractions except rides.
Festival promoters are Terry and Jan Lease of Jacksonville, Ill. They also promote a large indoor festival each November at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Springfield, Ill.
