The Johnston Bluegrass Festival in Johnston, Iowa, is right around the corner. The one-day event kicks off at 10 a.m. Aug. 4 with workshops. Music on the Polk County Bank Stage runs from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. This, the third annual festival, is held at 6700 Merle Hay Road.

Tim O’Brien Headlining 2007 Ola Belle Reed Homecoming Festival

Tim O’Brien, a powerhouse of contemporary bluegrass and acoustic music, will headline the 2007 edition of the Ola Bell Reed Homecoming Festival in Lansing, N.C.
O’Brien’s cover of Reed’s “I’ve Endured” earned him a 2004 IBMA nomination for Best Song of the Year.
He is also presenting a fiddle workshop during the festival, which runs Aug. 17-19.
