Nothin’ Fancy to lose half a member, but it’s only a temporary situation
Garry Farris of Nothin’ FancyNothin’ Fancy guitarist and high, high, high harmony singer Gary Farris will be half-way out of commission for a few weeks and the five-piece group will temporarily become a six-piece group.
Farris is due to have shoulder surgery Monday (Aug. 6). While he recuperates (on the road with the band, of course) Tim Emore will play guitar. Farris doesn’t expect to miss any of the band’s shows, he simply needs a bit of healing time before resuming strumming chores with the group.
Speaking of Nothin’ Fancy, the group is gearing up for its own bluegrass festival Sept. 20-22 in Glen Maury Park in Buena Vista, Va.
Billed as a premiere festival on the circuit, the lineup includes Seldom Scene, Marty Raybon, The James King Band, Lost & Found, Steep Canyon Rangers, Williams & Clark Expedition, Larry Stephenson, Dan Paisley & Southern Grass, Deer Creek Boys, The Wells Family, The Moron Brothers and, of course, the hosts, Nothin’ Fancy.
Details about the band and its festival are at http://www.nothinfancybluegrass.com/
