Marty RaybonCountry music superstar Marty Raybon will be joining the roster of performers appearing at Spicer’s Lake in South Lebanon, OH on Sept. 29, 2007.

The concert grounds at Spicer’s Lake are situated in the heart of South Lebanon, Ohio, conveniently located near I-71 and SR 48, and less than five miles from Kings Island.

Industry folks and bluegrass fans alike will want to reserve their tickets as soon as possible for IBMA’s Bluegrass Fan Fest, scheduled for October 5-7, 2007, in the comfortable indoor setting of the Nashville Convention Center. The star-studded event that wraps up World of Bluegrass Week (Oct. 1-7) will present the talents of more than 60 acts on four stages, including the Main Stage, the Roots & Branches Stage, the Masters Workshop Stage and the Grand Master Fiddler Championship.
The proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Bluegrass Trust Fund, established to help bluegrass professionals during times of emergency need, as well as IBMA’s marketing and educational events during the year. All artists appearing at the event donate their time and talents for the cause. National sponsors for the festival are Martha White Foods, the Bluegrass Radio Network and Martin Guitars.
“Carl Jackson (Fan Fest producer) has assembled a remarkable lineup to fill every corner of the place and minute of the time for this bluegrass reunion. No commentsDel McCoury Band on the road with Vince Gill
The Del McCoury BandVince Gill is expanding his tour repertoire this summer by adding fellow Grammy-winners Amy Grant and the Del McCoury Band to his troupe. The 18-date circuit begins July 14 at Atlanta’s Chastain Park Amphitheatre and concludes Sept. 11 at Santa Ana Star Center, Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
There are few better judges, or practitioners of bluegrass than Del McCoury. He first gained attention in the early 1960s as lead singer and guitarist for Bill Monroe’s fabled Blue Grass Boys band. In recent years, he has led his own band, aided by sons Ronnie and Rob. The Del McCoury Band, the most awarded artist in the history of Bluegrass, has nine times won the International Bluegrass Music Assn.’s Entertainer of the Year Award. In 2005, the bands CD, The Company We Keep, won the Best Bluegrass Album Grammy.
“Vince is like one of the boys. Great hair, great singer and a pretty good picker. Bluegrass has always been part of his life and it shows on stage.”Del McCoury
This year, Gill earned his 18th Grammy, this one for Best Male Country Vocal Performance, for “The Reason Why,” the debut single from “These Days”. He followed that song with his current single,”What You Give Away.”
Grant has been a vocal star since her teen years, starting in gospel and then expanding into pop music. Her pop hits include “The Next Time I Fall” (with Peter Cetera), “Baby Baby,” “Every Heartbeat” and “That’s What Love Is For.” Her gospel recordings have netted her six Grammys.
Both Grant and the Del McCoury Band were prominent players in the recording of “These Days”, making guest appearances on four of the tracks.
