Bush, Nothin’ Fancy to play Shenandoah Valley Music Fest

August 21st, 2007 | Category: Festival News
Sam BushSam Bush

Orkney Springs, VA - Mandolin wizard Sam Bush and guest band Nothin’ Fancy will appear at the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival at Orkney Springs, Va., on Saturday, Sept. 1.

Their concert starts at 7 p.m.

The festival is a summer concert series that starts in July and runs through the Labor Day weekend.

Bush needs little introduction to the bluegrass and acoustic music world, a realm where he is considered part of the royal family of mandolin players. He came to prominence as co-founder and leader of the progressive bluegrass band, New Grass Revival. He’s now riding the waves of a new released CD and DVD of a live concert. “SAM BUSH: On the Road” was just released this month on the Sugar Hill label.

Although they’ve existed as a band since 1994, Nothin’ Fancy is just reaching a pinnacle with a touring schedule of 140 dates this season. They now have seven CDs under their belt and are hosts to their own bluegrass festival in the band’s home base of Buena Vista, Va.

Tickets information is available at www.musicfest.org or by calling (800) 459-3396.
