Kruger Brothers add holiday shows to schedule

The North Carolina-based Kruger Brothers are getting into the swing of the holiday season with three Christmas concerts in Maine and North Carolina added to their tour schedule.Before taking to the stage, the three-piece group — banjo player Jens Kruger, guitarist and lead vocalist Uwe Kruger and bassist Joel Landsberg — will do a live studio broadcast at WERU, 89.9 FM, in Blue Hill, Maine, from 8 to 9 p.m. Dec. 6

The first holiday show takes place at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at the St. Albans Town Hall in central Maine. The following day, the brothers will perform at 7:30 p.m. at The Grand, a theater in Ellsworth Maine.

The brothers are closer to home Dec. 11 when they perform another holiday concert at the Hayes Performing Arts Center in Blowing Rock, N.C.

The remainder of the band’s 2007 schedule includes:

Dec. 14: Dickinson, N. Dakota, at the Dorothy Stickley Auditorium for a 7 p.m. concert

Dec. 15: Mott, N. Dakota, Playhouse Theatre, 7 p.m. concert

Dec. 21: Asheville, N.C., for an evening performance at the Jack of the Wood Pub
