Dailey & Vincent debut at #2 on Billboard Bluegrass chart
Nashville, Tenn. — Dailey & Vincent, the critically-acclaimed new duo on Rounder Records, debuted at #2 this week on Billboard’s Top Bluegrass Albums chart with their self-titled debut release. A pairing of well-known bluegrass musicians and vocalists Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent, the duo is garnering high praise for their self-produced 12-song set, and earning a reputation for thrilling crowds with their live shows.
Dailey & Vincent are also celebrating the fact that “By the Mark,” the hauntingly beautiful gospel number on their album which has captured the attention of critics and fans alike, remains at #1 for a second week on the Count Down Yonder Weekly Top 17 Songs of SIRIUS Bluegrass.
Rounder Records co-founder Ken Irwin said, “To the best of my recollection, this is the first time that siblings fronting two different performing groups have occupied the #1 and #2 positions on the Billboard bluegrass chart,” referring to Rhonda Vincent, whose Good Thing Going is at #1, and her brother Darrin, who is the Vincent of Dailey & Vincent. In addition, Darrin is the co-producer of both CD’s.
Dailey & Vincent performed yesterday at the Palatka Bluegrass Festival in Palatka, Florida, and will take the stage tonight in front of a sold-out crowd at Randy Wood’s Concert Hall in Bloomingdale, Georgia, before making their way to Everett’s Barn in Suwanee, Georgia (February 9). The rest of Dailey & Vincent’s itinerary for February includes performances at the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival in Framingham, Massachusetts (February 17), Bluegrass First Class in Asheville, North Carolina (February 22), and the Gateway City Bluegrass Festival in St. Louis (February 23).
