Southern Ohio Indoor Music Festival gets underway this coming weekend
Wilmington, OH — Next weekend, some of the nation’s best Bluegrass acts will take the stage at The Southern Ohio Indoor Music Festival, March 28 and 29, at the Roberts Convention Centre in Wilmington.
The Southern Ohio Indoor Music Festival features Bluegrass, Old-Time and Gospel music. Nationally and internationally known acoustic music groups are billed for March including Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, Bobby Osborne and the Rocky Top X-Press, Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper, Don Rigsby and Midnight Call, IIIrd Tyme Out, The Rarely Herd, Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers and more.
New this year is Humana’s “Jam Session Central”, an expanded area for pickers, and a larger seating area. Door prizes, raffle prizes, an instrument check, food and various vendors offer value-added extras to all attendees in a smoke and alcohol free environment. The spring festival will also offer a Bluegrass History Workshop hosted by Paul Williams and Blake Williams and a Music and Memories Kids Show hosted by the VW Boys.
The Southern Ohio Indoor Music Festival is the largest indoor Bluegrass, Old-Time and Gospel event in the region and continues to grow with each event. The Roberts Centre, located 12 miles south of Xenia, 5 miles north of Wilmington at the intersection of US 68 and I-71, exit 50, is convenient to fans from all over Ohio and neighboring states. This accessible location is less than an hour drive from Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus. The Roberts Centre also includes a Holiday Inn hotel, Max and Erma’s Restaurant, and RV parking adding to the comfort and convenience of the attendees.
Classic Country Radio, WBZI AM 1500, WKFI AM 1090 and WEDI AM 1130, is the media host for this event. Flat Rock Spring Fling just around the corner
Flat Rock, NC — April 19th is only weeks away and the Flat Rock Music Festival is gearing up for it’s 2nd Annual Spring Fling. The festival takes place at Camp Ton-A-Wandah in Flat Rock, NC and will feature the Biscuit Burners, Moonshine Babies with Marc Yaxley, Matt Walsh (Kansas City Blues Man), The Dirty Rug Band and local favorites The Smokey Joe Show.
Ticket prices are $50 for adults and $25 for children that includes music, catered BBQ dinner, camping and parking. The event is rain or shine with all artists performing in the camp’s gym.
There will be plenty of activities to participate in addition to the music. Kids arts, crafts and games are planned. Massage therapists will be available along with beer and wine available for sale. A limited amount of beds and cabins are available. The public will need to register early for the weekend to reserve these accomodations. No hookups are available, but RV camping is allowed with RVs and trailers under 35 feet.
Intimately nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains, the Flat Rock Music Festival’s Spring Fling brings people and musicians together from all over the southeast.
