Andy Falco’s solo CD, “Sentenced to Life with the Blues,” has been released by FGM Records, which is an affiliate of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine.

Falco, guitarist for the Infamous String Dusters, drew some heavyweights for a supporting cast, including Josh Williams, Cody Kilby, Adam Steffey, Luke Bulla, Jason Carter, Andy Hall, Noam Pikelney, Jim Van Cleve, Andy Leftwich, Alecia Nugent and Rob Ickes and Tim Dishman,

Like most FGM offerings, this one isn’t all about bluegrass, but there’s plenty to be had. Falco demonstrates his technique on the powerfully fast tunes to the waltz to the ballad.

The track list is:

  1. Back Home Again
  2. A Baby’s Dream
  3. Love for the Land
  4. Willow’s Waltz
  5. Sentenced to Life with the Blues
  6. Missing You
  7. Porcupine Cove
  8. Rattlesnake Creek
  9. And When I Die
  10. Ain’t My Baby Anymore
  11. Mollie’s Horses
  12. Poor Man Rich
  13. Amazing Grace

Falco has been performing and recording American roots music for most of his life. He started playing in rock and blues bands in the Northeast before doing a stint from 2000 to 2004 playing lead guitar with Buddy Merriam and Back roads, a Northeast-based Bluegrass band.

After relocating to Nashville, Tenn., in 2004, Falco started touring as a member of Alecia Nugent’s band, as well as select dates with The Greencards until joining Sugar Hill recording artists The Infamous Stringdusters last yera.

He has also worked with Bradley Walker, Malibu Storm (formerly the Shankman Twins), The Dixie Bee Liners, Buddy Merriam and Back Roads, along with various other side projects. His guitar playing can be heard most recently on Alecia Nugent’s latest CD, “A Little Girl…A Big Four Lane” (Rounder Records), Bradley Walker’s “Highway of Dreams” (Rounder Records), 2006 IBMA Album of the year MACC “Celebration of Life” (Skaggs Family Records), Darren Nicholson’s self titled CD, and Jeremy and Glen Garrett’s “Garrett Grass-Gospel 2005” to name a few.

Falco’s CD, as well as several recordings featuring hot flatpicking, are available at http://www.fgmrecords.com.
