Cincinnati, OH, – Rick Hayes, mandolinist for The Gibson Brothers, has released his first solo CD “Fly By Night.” Clips from the CD’s 13 tracks can be found on Rick’s website at www.RickeyHayes.com, as well as information on how to purchase a copy.

In addition to playing mandolin, guitar and bass on the project, Rick sings lead on nine of the tracks, leaving one each for his melodic bandmates Eric and Leigh Gibson, one for his dad Green Hayes, and one instrumental. There’s a host of other great talent on the project consisting of Ron Stewart, Jim VanCleve, Dwight McCall, Clay Hess and Josh Swift.

The CD includes three new tunes by Clay Hess and two by Mark Cole, as well as covers from the likes of Marty Stuart and Jeff White. It was recorded in Rick’s Cincinnati studio Hayes Productions, and includes some tracks recorded on his own brand of Hayes Mandolins. (Only some tracks because much of the work was finished before his first mandolin was completed.) And just to keep it all in the family, Rick’s wife Lyn shot most of the photos and designed the graphics.

To help launch the CD, Gracie Muldoon of WorldWideBluegrass.com will be interviewing Rick during her live streaming internet radio show “Muldoon with the Blue Moon” on Saturday, May 24th at 10pm.
