Nashville, Tenn. — Acclaimed Rounder Records duo Dailey & Vincent top the Bluegrass Unlimited National Bluegrass Survey album chart in the June issue with their self-titled debut release. The album first appeared on the chart in April at #4.
When it was released in January, Dailey & Vincent debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Top Bluegrass Albums chart. It has remained in the top 5 on that chart for 10 of the 15 weeks since its release. Dailey & Vincent also tops the XM Bluegrass Junction Top 40 Albums chart for the month of May, reflecting airplay during the month of April.
Several tracks from the album are also generating significant airplay. The very moving “More Than a Name on a Wall,” written by Jimmy Fortune and John Rimel, is at #3 this week on the Count Down Yonder Weekly Top 17 Songs of SIRIUS Bluegrass, based on listener requests. The song was a hit for the Statler Brothers in 1989 and is a fitting Memorial Day tribute.
“Sweet Carrie” moves from #9 to #4 on the Bluegrass Unlimited songs chart for June, while it rose from #10 to #6 on the XM Bluegrass Junction Top 30 Tracks for May.
“By the Mark” was a 4-week #1 on the SIRIUS Count Down Yonder earlier this year. This month it moves from #18 to #12 on the Bluegrass Unlimited songs chart.
Dailey & Vincent are also featured on the cover of the Bluegrass Unlimited June issue, with a story written by Jon Weisberger. For more information, visit www.bluegrassmusic.com.
Dailey & Vincent will perform at the Meramec Theatre in Steelville, Missouri, on May 24, followed by three days at the Bluegrass & BBQ Festival at Silver Dollar City in Branson, May 26-28.
