“By The Mark” - Dailey and Vincent recorded at Bluetop Bluegrass in Brushfork, WV
Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent, together as Dailey & Vincent and their band, are up for Vocal Group of the Year — along with nine other IBA award nominations.
Both performers were already well known before they hit the stage together as a bluegrass act for the first last December at the Grand Ole Opry. Dailey had been a star vocalist with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver and Vincent had played guitar and sang harmony for several years with Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder.
Their debut, self-titled CD on Rounder Records was sitting are at the top of the Bluegrass Unlimited National Record Survey albums chart for August, marking the third consecutive month they have been at No. 1 with their first CD. On Billboards Top Bluegrass Albums chart, the CD is ranked No. 5 and has been in the top 5 for 16 of the 24 weeks since its release. The band is also scoring high points and winning encore after encore this summer at bluegrass festivals around the country.
Members of the band are Dailey on guitar; Vincent on bass; Jeff Parker on mandolin; Joe Dean on banjo, guitar and mandolin; and Adam Haynes on fiddle.
