Music Video for the Single “Who’s Goin’ With Me”
Randy Kohrs, who left some big marks on the bluegrass scene this year with “Old Photograph,” his latest CD on the Rural Rythm label, is one of the top five finalists for the International Bluegrass Music Associations’ Dobro Player of the Year.
Kohrs has been building a rock-steady career base in Nashville, not only with his Dobro skills, but he’s stepping out as a producer, songwriter, vocalist and sound engineer. He’s already performed as a studio musician on more than 500 albums.
On “Old Photograph,” Kohrs called on several of his musical cohorts throughout the years to play supporting roles. Appearing on the CD are Scott Vestal on banjo, Tim Crouch on fiddle, guitarist Jim Hurst, Jesse Cobb on mandolin and several other guests.
Kohrs moved from his native Iowa to Nashville in 1995 and spent a stint touring with David Parmley and Continental Divide. He also toured for a time with Dolly Parton’s acoustic band, “The Blueniques.”
