Mike Bub after IBMA bass award No. 6
Category: IBMA Nominees

Mike Bub has claimed the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Bass Player of the Year award five times — and this time he’s on the shortlist of five nominees to win the award again.
Bub, who also packs a Grammy under his belt, can trace that honor to the Del McCoury Band with whom he traveled and recorded for 13 years.
Bub now refers to himself as “a freelance bassist,” and he’s picking up plenty of work from noted artists. In September alone, Bub has played — or will play — with Charlie Cushman and Jeff White, the Tony Rice Quartet and Peter Rowan, and has several dates performing with a show entitled “An Acoustic Evening with Vince Gill.”
Bub also continues to be involved with CD production, with the notable Steep Canyon Rangers’ CD, “One Dime At A Time” on Rebel Records, recorded in 2006, under his belt as one of his more notable production efforts.
