We all know Dan Tyminski as the stellar side man of Alison Krauss, but this year, Tyminski has tore it up with his super group The Dan Tyminski Band and a nomination for the IBMA’s Male Vocalist of the Year award. This year also brought the fans Dan’s second album for Rounder Records, “Wheels“.

Dan Tyminski played mandolin in the early days of the Lonesome River Band and has been a permanent fixture in Alison Krauss and Union Station since 1994. While Union Station is on “vacation”, Dan Tyminski and his band have been touring in full force and making some big waves on the festival circuit.

Tyminski is considered by many as one of the best harmony and lead vocalist in the country, and this year has proved that to be no exception.
