Michael Cleveland, a five time winner of the IBMA’s Fiddle Player of the Year award and reigning champ, is looking to take home his sixth IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year award.
Cleveland started playing fiddle at the age of four, and was regarded early on as a prodigy. He was part of the Bluegrass Youth All Stars at the IBMA’s award show in 1993. Michael Cleveland has made guest appearances with just about every bluegrass legend. By the time Michael was finished with high school, he was touring with Dale Ann Bradley.
In 2000, Michael Cleveland started a two year stint with Rhonda Vincent and The Rage, and then returned to play with Dale Ann Bradley again.
Michael, who is touring extensively with his own band, Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper, recently released “Leavin’ Town” on the Rounder label.
