Live Oak, FL. — The season’s final Suwannee Spirit Kids’ Music Camp is slated for Nov 21-23 at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Fla.

The camps, held four times a year, are designed to instill in youngsters an interest in fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin music and singing so they may inherit from others a love of music and pass on the old time music and instrument playing.

“A Sunday performance shows what the group has learned, and it’s always amazing how much the kids enjoy showing off what they’ve learned in a weekend,” said Susan Lamb, who handles publicity chores for the park.

The event is free for children ages 5-17, but parents must be onsite while the children are in class.

The camp begins with registration on Friday night and continues with classes Saturday morning, a Saturday afternoon arts and crafts session, a cookout Saturday evening, followed by more classes Saturday evening and again Sunday morning.

“The Sunday afternoon concert is amazing and instills self-confidence in kids, some who could not play prior to the weekend,” Lamb said.

If your child doesn’t have an instrument, one will be provided.

To register your child, make reservations for the weekend or if you have questions, information is available by calling 386-364-1683 or going to
the park’s Web site at www.musicliveshere.com.
