Guitar Pull Highlights Second Annual All for the Hall benefit

Prominent leaders in business, entertainment and media expressed their support for the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum at the not-for-profit educational organization’s second annual All for the Hall New York fundraiser at the Nokia Theatre Times Square on October 15.

Hosted by actor-musician Billy Bob Thornton and his band, the Boxmasters, the select crowd included veteran NBC newscaster Tom Brokaw; film directors Jonathan Demme and Andrew Jarecki; musician and painter Bob Neuwirth; record producer Nile Rodgers; comedian and TV personality Jeffrey Ross; former NBC anchor John Siegenthaler Jr. and his wife, former Seattle TV news anchor Kerry Brock; ESPN newscaster Hannah Storm; and country singer Chely Wright.

Kentucky PBS station to air J.D. Crowe story

Add another adjective to legendary banjo player J.D. Crowe’s resume.

A Kentucky Treasure: The J.D. Crowe Story,” is the name of a new video profile of the Lexington, Ky., native, that’s been produced by KET, Kentucky Educational Television, based in Lexington.

It will air Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 8 p.m. central time on KET1 and at the same time Sunday, Nov. 9, on KET2.

Energetic and crisp, Carrie Hassler & Hard Rain are a hard-driving bluegrass band that showcases one of the most talented and imaginative sets of musicians in the genre today. They were recently named in the top ten of Country Stars On-Line and their newest album, CHHR2, made its debut at #3 on BILLBOARD’s Bluegrass Top 50 in August.
