The McCoury Music Club is alive and pickin’.

It’s a new venture by bluegrass veteran Del McCoury, his family band and his label, McCoury Music. And, by McCoury Music’s own description, it’s “new territory.”

In a nutshell, here’s what the club’s about: Members, who pay $100 dues a year, will receive one live show by The Del McCoury Band, to download each month.

“The show will be selected by McCoury Music and in most cases will be from a recording made within the previous 60 days, but occasionally we may slip in a special show from the archives that we don’t think you can live without,” McCoury Music says in its sales pitch. “We also plan to reward members with occasional extras such as additional tracks from shows that were just too good not to share, or a studio track here and there exclusive just to you.”

Within the next few months, the club will also begin offering individual shows for sale to the general public. If the club posts shows beyond the one per month included in the member deal, members can purchase these shows at a discounted price.

To join, members can plop down the $100 in a lump sum — or a payment plan is available.

“I’m so excited about the McCoury Music Club and the opportunity it gives me to share with my most loyal fans,” McCoury said. “Making live shows available for fans for the first time in my career is very interesting and exciting. More important than that, I hope the club gives me a chance to interact more with you by offering you songs as soon as they are recorded (both live and in the studio) as well as share quick notes or thoughts on new bands that have gotten my attention.”
