Nashville, Tenn., — Guitar Hero: The Art of Rob Hendon, an exhibit featuring works by the acclaimed guitar portraitist, is on display now in the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum’s West Gallery. The exhibit, which features seven vibrant paintings of acoustic and electric guitars rendered in various media, will run through March 31, 2009.
An Ohio native, Rob Hendon moved to Nashville in 1985 to study music business at David Lipscomb University. Now vice president and director of publishing for Black River Music Group, Hendon combines his love of music with his desire to paint. Using bright colors, he creates intense, eye-catching work on all manner of surfaces, including canvas, glass, metal and wood.
In recent years, Rob Hendon has done custom paintings for Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen, record producer Mark Bright, R&B guitarist Steve Cropper, country star Keith Urban and Roy Orbison’s widow, Barbara Orbison, among others. Hendon’s popular paintings hang in private offices and in public institutions from Nashville to New York and beyond.
