Vickie Simmons benefit happens Nov. 16 at Renfro Valley

Renfro Valley, KY — Some of Bluegrass music’s finest musicians will lend their support to a friend in need at Renfro Valley’s Old Barn Theater for the “Benefit Among Friends in Honor of Vicki Simmons” to be held on Sunday, November 16th.
Vicki Simmons is best known as one of the founding members of the New Coon Creek Girls in 1979 and performed with that group for 25 years. Simmons is accomplished on bass and claw-hammer banjo and has spent the last several years as a featured performer at the Renfro Valley Entertainment Center. Simmons suffered a brain aneurysm and subsequent stroke in July of this year.
“A Benefit Among Friends In honor Of Vickie Simmons” will feature performances by many bluegrass and gospel artists including J.D. Crowe, Larry Stephenson, Michael Cleveland, Don Rigsby and many more. The event will take place at the Renfro Valley’s Old Barn Theater on Sunday, November 16th with music starting at 1:00pm. The Renfro Valley Entertainment Center is located on US 25, Exit 62 off I-75. More information may be obtained by calling 800-765-7464 and online at www.RenfroValley.com. All donations will be used to help offset Simmons’ medical expenses.
