Beth Stevens & Edge release Pinecastle Records debut.

Beth Stevens & Edge have released their first album, Strong Enough, on the Pinecastle Records label.

In case you might be wondering who the band leader is, Beth Stevens is well known from her former partnership with her sister April, as the Stevens Sisters.

Scott Vestal of banjo fame produced the CD, which includes several guests and some genre-benders that cross into blues, country and gospel. Eight of the tracks are orginal compositions.

Edge includes Beth Stevens’ dad, Douglas Stevens, who sings lead and harmony vocals and plays guitar; Gary Laws on bass and vocals; Greg Hodge on mandolin and fiddle; and schedule permitting, Matt Leadbetter on dobro.

Guest appearances on Strong Enough include Jesse Cobb, Shelton Feazell, Steve Thomas, Steve Gulley, Vestal and Dale Ann Bradley.

Although this is a debut album, Stevens doesn’t fit the rookie mold. She’s performed on the Grand Ole Opry, CMT and PBS television and has toured with Merle Haggard, Brad Paisley, John Anderson, Ralph Stanley, Bill Monroe, Waylon Jennings and Gene Watson.

She has been featured in Bluegrass Unlimited, Smithsonian Magazine, Country Weekly, Rolling Stone and Bluegrass Now Magazine.
