Nashville Tenn. — Rural Rhythm recording artist, Carrie Hassler will be honored by her hometown of Pikeville, Tenn. when Mayor, Greg Johnson presents her with the Key to the City of Pikeville and proclaims “Carrie Hassler Day.” The event takes place, December 5, 2008 with a reception from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Perfect Light Gallery located at 421 Spring Street, Pikeville, TN.

Carrie Hassler’s incredible vocals have garnered her much attention including this month’s cover of Bluegrass Music Profiles Magazine’s “Women in Bluegrass” issue. Last month, Hassler was a presenter, along with bluegrass artist, Josh Williams at the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Award’s Show at the Ryman Auditorium and Carrie Hassler & Hard Rain performed at the well attended IBMA Fan Fest at the Nashville Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn.

It was only two years ago, this band jumped on the bluegrass scene when Rural Rhythm Records released the self-titled CD by Carrie Hassler & Hard Rain that made its debut on Billboard Magazine’s Top 50 Bluegrass Album Chart. The album and two singles (”Seven Miles From Wichita” and “Going on the Next Train”) were immediate chart hits.

On July 29, 2008, the label released the band’s new CD, CHHR2, again produced by Grammy nominated, Jim VanCleve. The CD made its debut at #3 on Billboard Magazine’s Top 50 Bluegrass Chart and just debuted on Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine’s Top 15 Album Chart.

The first single, “I Can Go Back Anytime,” is currently #1 on BluegrassCountry.org and was at #3 last month on Bluegrass Music Profiles Top 30 Singles Chart. Rural Rhythm is proud to announce the upcoming U.S. Country Radio single release of the band’s song, “Country Strong.”
