Nashville, Tenn. — Rounder recording artists and two-time Entertainers of the Year, The Grascals honored America’s troops last week at Ft. Campbell Army Base in Kentucky with a special performance before President George W. Bush spoke to troops and presented a local hero with the Volunteer Service Award.
“What an honor it was to be a small part of something so huge,” said Grascals member Jamie Johnson. “The troops are coming back from serving our country, and we did our best to put a smile on each and every face as we all welcomed them home!”
The Grascals will have a second meeting with the president this Tuesday, December 2, as they travel to Washington D.C. to perform during a special reception, dinner and party honoring the President and Mrs. Laura Bush and the Vice President and Mrs. Lynn Cheney. The band will receive a private White House tour and be there to meet the president and first lady when they arrive.
