Dan Tyminski Band – “Freeborn Man” Live At The Birchmere

Burlington, MA – One of bluegrass music’s most beloved voices, Dan Tyminski, has been nominated for a Grammy® in the Best Bluegrass Album category for his sophomore solo album Wheels. Since the album’s June release on Rounder, the album has been #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart three times and has also topped the Bluegrass Music Profiles Top 10 Albums chart and the Bluegrass Unlimited album chart.

The Dan Tyminski Band was also nominated for two Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) awards. Tyminski himself was nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year (Traditional) and his band mate, Ron Stewart, was nominated in the Fiddle Performer of the Year category.

The thirteen time Grammy® Award winner has been enchanting bluegrass enthusiasts for over fourteen years as the guitarist and lead and harmony vocalist for Alison Krauss and Union Station. His signature hard-edged vocal style is a favorite among critics and peers who have named Tyminski Best Male Vocalist at the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards three times. The LA Times calls Tyminski “an exceptional guitarist and country-bluegrass singer…” and the Chicago Tribune says he “latches together old-style bluegrass charm and modern polish…”

The Dan Tyminski Band is: Dan Tyminski (lead vocals, guitar), Adam Steffey (mandolin), Justin Moses (fiddle), Barry Bales (bass), and Ron Stewart (banjo).
