This photo, taken by Jim McGuire, shows all the alumni of The Bluegrass Alliance from around 1968 to 1978 who gathered earlier this month at The Bluegrass Hotel in Louisville, Ky., for an audio and video project by the same name. Joining the former band members in the photo are J.D. Crowe and John Cowan, who were dubbed “honorary members” for the event.

The Lawsons– that’s Kellard and Melva — along with guest Larry Cordle can be heard on the single, “I Heard My Mother Call My Name In Prayer”, from their new CD on Prime Cuts of Bluegrass, Vol.95.

The CD, “Shout It From The Highest Hill,” is scheduled to release in January on the Kindred Records label.
