Grammy award winning West Virginian, Tim O’Brien heads back to the home state to play Charleston’s Clay Center this Saturday, January 10th, 2009.
Tim O’Brien is a legendary singer/songwriter who plays a wide variety of instruments and blends several different music genres into his own unique sound. A decorated bluegrass veteran, Tim is also right at home playing folk, blues, swing, and old time music. O’Brien never disappoints on stage, whether solo or with a group, Tim will leave the crowd begging for more.
Warming up for Tim O’Brien will be another West Virginia native, Todd Burge. Todd’s latest album, “My Lost & Found“, produced by Tim O’Brien, has been well received in the folk/americana music world. Tim O’Brien says about Todd, “Todd Burge’s music and personality will grow on you. He draws from the same muse as John Hartford and Roger Miller, but there’s something else in there that keeps it all Todd, all the time. The songs make me laugh and then think, and then laugh and think again.”
The show starts at 7:30 PM, and tickets for the event are on sale online at www.theclaycenter.org, or by calling 304-561-3570.
The Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences is a unique venue, combining music, theater, art, and science all in one place. You can check them out online at www.theclaycenter.org.
Bring the kids and spend the day in the interactive museums, and spend the night listening to some of the finest music West Virginia has to offer.
