Vienna, VA — Grammy Award winners Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer will perform at a concert & family jam session with Special Guest- Christylez Bacon at Jammin’ Java in Vienna, VA on January 10.

Mando Magnificat, billed as “a celebration of the enduring and brilliant versatility of the mandolin,” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. March 7 at Northwestern University’s Pick-Staiger Concert Hall in Evanston, Illinois.

The show will feature two performers who are no strangers to bluegrass — Sam Bush and Mike Marshall, as well as Germany’s Caterina Lichtenberg, Don Stiernberg of Chicago, the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra, and Mirko Schrader on guitar.

Steve Gulley, one of modern bluegrass’s highly regarded performers, has opened The Curve Studio, a professional recording facility in Cumberland Gap in east Tennessee.

“We are an all-digital hard disk recording studio with the capacity to track a full five-piece band at once or individually track single musicians,” Gulley says on the studio’s Web site.

Wow! Not one, but two Lloyd Loar Gibson F-model mandolins have turned up for sale on the Mandolin Cafe Web site.

One is being advertised as owned by a Kansas family for more than 60 years.
