Williams & Clark Expedition hosts the 2009 Franklin Music Festival at the Blue Grass Music RV Park in Franklin, KY.

Owners of the Blue Grass Music RV Park near Franklin, Ky., have purchased additional property adjacent to their land to allow for more parking for day traffic and to expand the number of full RV hookups, according to an announcement from the Williams & Clark Expedition.

The Tennessee-based band is taking over full promotion and production of the Franklin (Ky.) Music Festival, which this year is moving to a new home at the Blue Grass Music RV Park. The park was formerly known as the Franklin KOA campground. Construction of the new parking area and the additional RV hookup facilities is expected to be complete in April.

Owners of the park are also going to construct an 18,000-square-foot covered pavilion to house the stage and audience for the festival.

This year’s festival, the sixth one, will be held Sept. 11 and 12. Acts already booked are Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, Grasstowne, Connie Smith, The Dillards, Lonesome River Band, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, Nothin’ Fancy, Next Best Thing and The Bluegrass Brothers.

Williams & Clark Expedition, as the host band, will also be performing.

The Blue Grass Music RV Park itself is under new ownership and management. Nestled in the Kentucky hills, the park is about 30 miles north of Nashville with easy access off Interstate 65.

Most all of the RV sites are spacious pull-throughs with full hook ups. The campground also has four one-bedroom cabins and one two- bedroom cabin. Reservations for camping and the cabins can be made at (270) 586-5622.

The festival’s Web site is at http://www.franklinkymusicfestival.com
