Burlington, MA – Dan Tyminski’s stellar release, “Wheels”, is January’s #1 album on Bluegrass Unlimited’s National Bluegrass Survey Top 15 Albums chart, and the title track is #1 on the Top 30 Songs chart. Since the album’s June release on Rounder, the album has been #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart three times and has also topped the Bluegrass Music Profiles Top 10.
The Dan Tyminski Band was recently nominated for a Grammy® award in the Best Bluegrass Album category and was also nominated for two Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) awards: Tyminski for Male Vocalist of the Year (Traditional) and his band mate, Ron Stewart, for Fiddle Performer of the Year.
The thirteen time Grammy® Award winner has been enchanting bluegrass enthusiasts for over fourteen years as the guitarist and lead and harmony vocalist for Alison Krauss and Union Station. His signature hard-edged vocal style is a favorite among critics and peers who have named Tyminski Best Male Vocalist at the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards three times. The LA Times calls Tyminski “an exceptional guitarist and country-bluegrass singer…” and the Chicago Tribune says he “latches together old-style bluegrass charm and modern polish…”
The Dan Tyminski Band is: Dan Tyminski (lead vocals, guitar), Barry Bales (bass), Justin Moses (fiddle), Adam Steffey (mandolin), and Ron Stewart (banjo).
