Stoney Lonesome at Sutton’s Old-Time Music Hour

Granville, Tenn. — Stoney Lonesome, a Cookeville, Tenn. based band, will perform on Sutton’s Old-Time Music Hour on January 31 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. In addition to the weekly radio taping for broadcast, the Tennessee Crossroads PBS series will be on hand taping for future broadcast.

Special Consensus, “Signs” marks new era, sort of

Special Consensus’s new CD, “Signs,” marks a new era for the Chicago-based bluegrass band, according to promotional material just released by Pinecastle Records.

“The band’s sound has evolved with the addition of new members that is a culmination of the constant push and pull between traditional and more progressive grass,” the label said in a flyer announcing the March 24 release of the CD.

WSM is going ‘Back to the Barn’

Nashville, Tenn. — A brand new barn dance of sorts is heading to the WSM-AM 650 airwaves.

WSM is the Nashville, Tenn., radio station that’s gained fame over the decades with its exclusive broadcasts of the Grand Ole Opry. And, it still continues to broadcast the world famous Opry, which has become the longest running live radio show in the world.
