Burlington, MA – One of Bluegrass’ most honored and revered talents, Doyle Lawson, celebrates 30 years of recording with Quicksilver with his 34th release – Lonely Street (Rounder) on May 5. Another blue ribbon recording featuring the award winning vocal harmonies and hot picking that has placed Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver at the top of bluegrass radio charts and award shows time and time again. The album, produced by Lawson, features 12 (see below for complete track listing) bluegrass and gospel tracks. Lawson co-wrote one of the tracks, “Down Around Bear Cove,” with Josh Swift. Lawson says “Josh Swift started this instrumental. He wrote the first part and I wrote the bridge. It’s a catchy tune with some elements of swing, as well as bluegrass. We had fun jamming on this one. Josh and Brandon do a great job playing tenor and baritone harmonies to my lead. It’s a little harder to play than it sounds, and we love the challenge.”

Lawson has received numerous awards in his illustrious career – he was the recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts’ National Heritage Fellowship, the Endowment’s highest honor granted to traditional and folk artists for career accomplishments. Doyle and his band Quicksilver have also picked up the International Bluegrass Music Award for “Best Vocal Group” an unprecedented seven years in a row. His third album for Rounder, Lonely Street proves beyond a doubt that Doyle’s artistry is a notch above, his mastery of the genre is without question and his legacy as one of the genre’s most inspiring musicians and band leaders is assured.
