Burlington, MA — Rounder Records has announced the June 16 release of “Destination Life,” the new album from Rhonda Vincent – the dynamic vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter dubbed “the new queen of bluegrass” by the Wall Street Journal. “Destination Life” is Rhonda’s first album featuring only The Rage – her stellar touring band – showing off a multitude of talents, musically and vocally; and raising the bluegrass bar to a higher level.

With “Destination Life” Rhonda embraces exciting changes and redefines her destination with new music, new bandmembers, and an evolving musical attitude. Co-produced by long time Rage member Hunter Berry, the album also introduces new writers and songs that were collected from such far-flung locations as New Zealand (“Destination Life”). There are three originals that Rhonda co-wrote with friends (“What A Woman Wants To Hear,” “Last Time Loving You,” “I Heard My Saviour Calling Me”), familiar favorites (“Stop The World,” “Crazy Love,” and “Eighth of January”), an inspirational song straight from the hymnal (“When I Travel My Last Mile”), as well as songs from seasoned writers Pete Goble and Paulette Carlson (“I Can Make Him Whisper” and “Crazy What A Lonely Heart Will Do”).

In addition to receiving an unprecedented seven consecutive “Female Vocalist of the Year” awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), being named IBMA’s 2001 “Entertainer of the Year,” and being the co-author of the 2004 IBMA “Song of the Year,” Vincent has been nominated for 4 Grammy^® awards.
