About Claire Lynch:

Claire Lynch is a veteran bluegrass act who is as comfortable with song writing as she is with performing. Claire started her career in 1973 with the band Hickory Wind. By the 1980’s, Lynch was writing songs for the likes of Patty Loveless, Kathy Mattea, and The Whites as well as adding back ground vocals to albums by Dolly Parton, Pam Tillis, and Emmylou Harris. The 1990’s saw a comeback of Claire Lynch and the Front Porch Stringband with their 1991 Album, Lines & Traces. The success of that album and of the band led to Claire Lynch’s second solo album, Friends for a Lifetime in 1993. Next came the Grammy-nominated Moonlighter in 1995, followed by 1997s Silver and Gold, which also received a Grammy nomination.

Claire Lynch’s newest albums “New Day” and “Crowd Favorites” have received much acclaim and praise, as has her current band. Her current band consists of two time IBMA guitar player of the year, Jim Hurst, Mark Schatz on bass, and fiddler Jason Thomas.
