IBMA announces official showcase invitation list

The International Bluegrass Music Association on Wednesday announced its lineup of acts that have been invited to appear in an official showcase at the 2009 IBMA business conference.
“There were 121 impressive acts that applied this year,” IBMA said in a news release. “The committee would like to applaud all the applicants and we thank you for your interest in this showcase opportunity.”
Formal communication and confirmation materials have been forward to those invited.
On the invitation list are:
- Darin Aldridge & Brooke Justice
- Audie Blaylock & Redline
- the Bankester Family
- The Crowe Brothers
- Davidson Brothers
- G2 Bluegrass Band
- Gold Heart
- Donna Hughes Band
- The Martins
- Michael Martin Murphey
- The Quebe Sisters Band
- Billy Smith
- Spring Creek.
An additional six acts will be selected to showcase in a record label recommended selection process. IBMA’s World of Bluegrass events, including the business conference, will be hosted in Nashville, Tenn., from Sept. 28 through Oct. 4.
