The Bluegrass Music RV Park owners in Franklin, Ky., have begun construction on the 18,000-square-foot covered pavilion that will house the stage and audience for the annual Franklin Music Festival.
Wait, there’s more.
The park has also purchased 5 acres of adjacent property to be used as additional camp spots and day-traffic parking. And, new hotel sponsors have been added to the festival’s list.
This year’s festival takes place Sept. 11 and 12. Featured performers will include the host band Williams & Clark Expedition, Connie Smith, The Dillards, Lonesome River Band, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, Next Best Thing, The Bluegrass Brothers, Grasstowne, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper and Nothin’ Fancy.
All the RV sites at the Bluegrass Music RV Park are pull-through and offer electric and water hookups. Some sites also offer sewage. Camping reservations can be made directly through the park at 270-586-5622.
The three lodging facilities adding their names to the list of festival sponsors are the new Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Franklin, the local Super 8 and the Franklin Days Inn. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites tops the list by being the festival’s Preferred Hotel.
All three hotels have arranged special rates for festival attendees, who must ask for the music festival rate when making reservations.
Finally, the Franklin Music Festival has announced its policy on setting up lawn chairs under the new pavilion. Guests may set up their chairs, beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10. This will be done on a first-come basis via a single file line, which will begin forming at 10 a.m., but no one can enter the pavilion until 1 p.m.
No chairs with high backs will be allowed and chairs must stay within the marked rows at all times.
Festival updates will be posted at http://www.franklinkymusicfestival.com, or people can call the official festival hotline, 270-776-5587.
