Michael Cleveland, Flamekeeper hot on Music City trail

WSM 650 AM will host a special interview with Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper at the Country Music Hall of Fame on Friday (June 5).

The interview ,with WSM’s Bill Cody in the Ford Theater, is free to the public.

To include a short performance, the interview will begin at approximately 9 a.m.

The interview will also be broadcast live on www.wsmonline.com.

Cleveland and his band will perform later that night beginning at 9 o’clock, at the Station Inn, and will travel to McMinnville, Tenn., on Saturday to perform along with Cherryholmes at Bluegrass Underground starting at 2 p.m.

All that is a Music City prelude to Flamekeeper’s appearance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. June 25 for the series kickoff of “Bluegrass Nights At The Ryman.” Cleveland and Flamekeeper will share the stage that night with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver. Tickets can can be purchased online or by calling the Ryman Box Office at (615) 889-3060.

And, a final tidbit about the group: Its debut Rounder release, Leavin’ Town, is No. 5 on the National Bluegrass Survey’s Top 15 Bluegrass Albums chart and the title cut from the CD is No. 6 on the survey’s Top 30 Bluegrass Singles chart.
