Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival online.
The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco has posted a lengthy lineup, including several bluegrass acts, for its October run, but a performing schedule has yet to be posted on the festival’s Web site, strictlybluegrass.com.
The festival, headed into its ninth year, is gaining in popularity on the list of mega music events around the country. Admission to this one is free, which doesn’t hurt its rising popularity.
This year’s show will be held Oct. 2, 3 and 4 at the Speedway, Lindley & Marx Meadows in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.
Among performers listed on the Web site are Marty Stuart, The Del McCoury Band, Earl Scruggs, Emmylou Harris, Doc Watson & David Holt, The Claire Lynch Band, Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys, Dry Branch Fire Squad, John Prine, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, The Tim O’Brien Band, The Chieftains, Darrell Scott Band,Steve Martin with the Steep Canyon Rangers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Steve Earle & the Bluegrass Dukes, Hazel Dickens and Gillian Welch.
