Titus, Ala., — The Titus Bluegrass Festival on September 26th will offer attendees a chance to relax in the shade and enjoy live bluegrass music. Barbecue, arts and crafts, children’s activities and door prizes will also be part of the ninth annual Titus Bluegrass Festival to be held on the grounds of the Titus Community Center in Titus, Alabama.

Family-oriented fun and entertainment will be the order of the day. Banjos, mandolins, guitars and bass fiddles will take center stage from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This year’s acts will include Southern Gentlemen, East Wind, the Bluegrass Biscuits, and Kelli Johnson and Friends.

A large turnout is expected this year, according to Tom Hinton, president of the festival committee. “We’re looking forward to another fun and successful bluegrass festival,” he said. “We’ll also have some of the best barbecue around, as well as homemade cakes and cookies and other concessions.”

“The location is comfortable in a well-shaded area,” he added. “People only have to bring their own lounge chairs. And, no alcohol or pets are permitted.”

Admission for the day is $5 for adults and children under 12 get in free. The festival is a rain or shine event. The Titus Community Center is located approximately 10 miles north of Wetumpka on U.S. Highway 231, then north on County Road 29. Proceeds will be used for continued restoration and improvements to the Titus Community Center, which was built in 1928.
