Fans can download a free song, “Left Handed Dreamer,” from the album at Amazon.com on that date. Americana group to honor Sam Bush

Mandolin guru Sam Bush will receive the Lifetime Achievement for Instrumentalist Award in mid-September at the 8th annual Americana Honors & Awards Ceremony in Nashville, Tenn.

The Gibson Foundation will present the award on Sept. 17 at the historic Ryman Auditorium….

Martin unveils Dan Tyminski D-28 Custom Addition at NAMM

Burlington, MA – Audience members who have seen Dan Tyminski play with either his own band or with Alison Krauss and Union Station have undoubtedly noticed his much loved 1946 Martin D-28 guitar. Acoustic Guitar Magazine includes story about Lloyd Loar

Is there a bluegrass mandolin picker out who hasn’t heard of Lloyd Loar? He was a legendary acoustic engineer and instrument designer and builder for the Gibson instrument company, then of Kalamazoo, Mich. That was back in the 1920s, but Loar’s mark stands strong and tall today….
