Virginia native Mary Ennis is no stranger to Bluegrass music, its fans or its artists and is known as “Dancin’ Mary” to the Bluegrass community. When top Bluegrass musicians learned of Mary’s recent diagnosis of cancer, there was not a question in any one’s mind that something should be done. To that end, a special benefit concert has been planned in Mary’s honor.

“This show is what the Bluegrass community and Bluegrass people are all about!”, stated Bluegrass singer and benefit coordinator Larry Stephenson. “I put this show together in just a little over an hour from my home in Tennessee and no one hesitated. Mary Ennis is why we do what we do… she’s one of the best fans in Bluegrass Music.”

The Mary Ennis Benefit Concert will take place on Thursday, August 6th at the Nelson County High School in Lovingston, VA. Showtime is 7:00pm with a donation of $20 requested at the door. Everyone involved is donating their time in support of this special friend so all funds collected will go directly to Mary Ennis for her medical bills.

In addition to the Larry Stephenson Band, other artists scheduled to lend their support through their music are Nothin’ Fancy, Rhonda Vincent & the Rage and The Little Mountain Boys. SPBGMA DJ of the Year, Brenda Lawson will be master of ceremonies and sound is being provided by Doug Crabtree of Crabtree Audio. Support is also being offered by the James River Bluegrass Association.
