Alison Krauss & Union Station along with Cherryholmes and other notable Bluegrass artists will be playing an August 4th benefit for Nashville based luthier Chris Fontaine at the Wildhorse Saloon.

Fontaine, who works as a luthier and bow repairman at Williams Fine Violins on Music Row, has a rare form of cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma. Due to a pre-existing condition Fontaine has been unable to obtain medical insurance. Fontaine’s medical treatment involves several aggressive courses of chemotherapy and his ability to work regularly is limited throughout the remainder of 2009. As if life weren’t exciting enough, the Fontaines will welcome their fourth child in August, adding to the family’s financial stress.

For only $25, you will hear a jaw dropping lineup at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville. Artist include: Cherryholmes, Alison Krauss Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas, Cadillac Sky, The Dixie Bee-Liners, Annie Moses Band, The SteelDrivers, and more. Purchase tickets at www.ticketmaster.com. Search under Alison Krauss and you will see the Fontaine Benefit in Nashville on August 4th.

You can read more of his and his family’s story or donate at www.fontainefund.com.

To donate to the silent auction call 615-429-2927.

Donations may be made at any Bank of America branch. Let them know the contribution is for the Christopher Fontaine Medical Fund and that the account was set up in Tennessee.
