Franklin, KY — The finishing touches have been put on the Franklin KY Music Festival’s new digs, at the Blue Grass Music RV Park and bluegrass music is ready to ring from the stage and the campground. Last year’s festival was the end of an era and September 11 & 12 is the beginning of a new one as the Franklin KY Music Festival kick’s off it’s debut run at the new facilities.

While the festival has a new name and a new location, patrons of the previous festival should feel right at home. Host band Williams & Clark Expedition and notably Kimberly Willliams, bassist for the group, have taken over as the festival’s sole promoters and organizers. Also familiar to many will be a couple bluegrass artists scheduled to play. The ever popular Rhonda Vincent & the Rage are back. Nothin’ Fancy, the current SPBGMA Entertaining Group of the Year are scheduled for a return appearance.

Other bluegrass artists slated for the Franklin KY Music Festival are The Dillards, Grasstowne, Grand Ole Opry Star Connie Smith, Lonesome River Band, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, Next Best Thing and The Bluegrass Brothers.

According to the festival’s chief organizer, Kimberly Williams, “Camping hookups are sold out and we doubled our hookups this year though plenty of dry camping is still available.”

Seating for the festival is first come first serve and lawn chairs can be set up beginning at 1:00pm (Central) on Thursday, September 10.

The Franklin KY Music Festival has also added a Golf Scramble to the festivities this year. It will take place on Sunday, September 13 at 8:00 am at Kenny Perry’s Country Creek Golf Course. For those interested pack your clubs and call 615-337-6755 for more information.
