Who’s the 2009 IBMA Broadcaster of the Year ?

This years nominees for the IBMA Broadcaster of the Year feature three well known DJs in the bluegrass radio industry. Both Kyle Cantrell and Ned Luberecki have shows on SiriusXM Satellite Radio’s Bluegrass Junction (Channel 14). Katy Daly has been a staple with Washington D.C. area’s WAMU 88.5 FM which is also online at BluegrassCountry.org.

“Ned Luberecki’s fascination with banjo, bluegrass and radio all started in the late 1970s. First inspired to learn the banjo from hearing Steve Martin play on his comedy records, he quickly absorbed the music of Flatt and Scruggs, Bill Monroe, and J. D. Crowe and the New South. He is also influenced by the progressive sounds of Tony Trischka, Newgrass Revival and Tony Rice, and by some good ol’ rock and roll” XMRadio.com
