Dede Wyland "Keep The Light On" (Patuxent Music)

Dede Wyland’s latest CD, “Keep The Light On” is now available on the Patuxent Music label. “Keep The Light On” features Wyland’s “pure and compelling voice… and her driving rhythm guitar that powered the sounds of Tony Trischka & Skyline for eight years.” In addition to Wyland, “Keep The Light On” features the work of Mike Munford, Ronnie Simpkins, Rickie Simpkins, Wyatt Rice, Darol Anger, Ira Gitlin, Tom McLaughlin, Randy Barrett, Dudley Connell, David McLaughlin and Fred Travers

In addition to several years on the road performing at some of America’s most prestigious bluegrass & Acoustic music festivals, Wyland has appeared on Prairie Home Companion, Mountain Stage and the now defunct Nashville Network’s “Fire on the Mountain” television show.

In 2004, the Washington Area Music Association presented Wyland the “Wammie” award for Bluegrass Vocalist. Wyland remains a sought-after vocal instructor in the Washington, DC, area.

As a teacher, Dede Wyland uses her profound knowledge of the human voice and her inspiring and supportive manner to help amateurs and professionals alike realize their vocal potential. Bluegrass Unlimited, in a January 2001 feature article, said that Dede’s “gifts of vocal virtuosity, musical expression, and sheer positive force of personality have made her a valued presence in modern acoustic music.” She is often described as “a singer’s singer.”
