Greer, SC — Do yoga and bluegrass mix? At the Albino Skunk Bluegrass festival, they certainly do — or at least the two unlikely subjects will cross paths this coming weekend.
The Albino Skunk Bluegrass festival will be held Friday and Saturday (Oct. 16 and 17) at the Glynn and Susan Zeigler property north of Greer, in upstate South Carolina.
The Albino Skunk Bluegrass festival “is a unique music festival,” according to the promoters. But, judging by the event’s name, we already guessed that. “It’s not just bluegrass – we always have a great mix of music scheduled,” the promoters said in a news release.
The festival got its name from the sightings of white skunks on the grounds, they explain. “Well, mostly white with a dark stripe – they’re not true albinos.”
Artists scheduled to perform are:
Friday
- Michael Reno Harrell
- Red Molly
- The Belleville Outfit
- Larry Zarella
- Dehlia Low
- Shannon Whitworth
- The Infamous Stringdusters
Saturday
- The Gourds
- Steep Canyon Rangers
- Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice
- Elizabeth Cook
- Town Mountain
- Holy Ghost Tent Revival
- Silver Dagger
Oh yeah, that bit about yoga: An area business, North Main Yoga, will conduct a yoga session at 9 a.m. Saturday morning! Yoga will take place at KiddieLand.
