Magnolia Festival features Bluegrass, Americana and Roots music

Live Oak, Fla. — You can feel the excitement building for the 13th Annual Magnolia Festival filled with dozens of famous Americana, Bluegrass and Roots artists performing at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, Fla. Magnolia Festival attendees looking to get their bluegrass fix should find plenty of quality Bluegrass artists in the lineup that include: the Sam Bush Band, Peter Rowan, Jim Lauderdale, The Duhks and Blueground Undergrass to start. A full list of artists scheduled to appear is below.
Thousands of music lovers are expected to converge on the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park for the Oct. 22-25 festival. Events are held on multiple stages.
The festival gets underway at 4:20 p.m. Thursday – 1 a.m.; Friday music gets underway at 10 a.m. – 1:30 a.m.; Saturday 10:45 a.m. – 1:30 a.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Scheduled performances are – Dickey Betts & Great Southern, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Umoja Orchestra, Sam Bush Band, KBM: Kreutzmann, Burbridge, Murawski; Little Brown Peach, Vassar Clement’s Bluegrass Jam hosted by Peter Rowan, Jim Lauderdale, Rubber Souldiers, Donna The Buffalo, Moonalice, The Duhks, Vince Herman & Great American Taxi, Travelin McCourys, The Lee Boys, Seth Walker, Col Bruce & Quark Alliance, Scythian, Blueground Undergrass, Joe Craven Duo, Daddy, Cornmeal, Tornado Rider, Jennie Arnau, Lefty Williams, The Rowan Brothers with Sue Cunningham, David Gans, Mike and Ruthy, Dread Clampitt, Holy Ghost Tent Revival, Hubba Hubba, Eliza Lynn, Annie Wenz, Nikki Talley, Tom Nelly, Lyndsay Pruett, Suwannee Bluegrass Mafia, Tania & The Magi Moon Traveling Circus Tania & The Magic Moon Traveling Circus, Farther Along – The Music & Life of Gram Parsons, The Golden Ticket, Donna Jean & the Tricksters, Melvin Seals & JGB Band, WaCo Ramblers, Rushad & Tornado Rider, Ralph Roddenbery Band, Ford Turrell with Bryn Davies, Sloppy Joe and Scramble Campbell.
A New Orleans style walking parade will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 beginning at 10 a.m. Bring your own beads if you wish to throw them. Participants are asked to be in costumes and decorate their golf carts and bicycles.
MagnoliaFest Tickets – 4 day advance pass: $150; 3 day (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) advance pass: $130; 2 day (Saturday, Sunday) advance pass: $110; All multi-day tickets include primitive camping, park access, parking and sales tax. Primitive Sites are unassigned and selected upon arrival. Upgrades from primitive to reserved sites may be purchased from Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park by calling 386-364-1683 or by going to the website at www.musicliveshere.com.

Single day tickets available at the gate. Camping and access to the campground is NOT included.

Kids 12 and under are admitted free with accompanying adult. The festival will be held rain, shine, war or peace. Vendors with a huge variety of food and merchandise will be on the festival grounds.
Directions to SOSMP
The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park is located between Jacksonville & Tallahassee, Florida about 30 minutes south of the Georgia state line, about 45 minutes north of Gainesville.
From points north and south, take I-75 to Live Oak and Jasper exit at US 129, head south 4.5 miles and the park is on your right.
From the east or west, take I-10 to Live Oak and Jasper exit at US 129, go north about 4.5 miles and the park is on your left.
Please note: No public events will be held in the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park Music Hall this weekend, Oct. 22-25, due to the festival. Entry to the Music Hall will be with Magnolia Fest tickets only.
