North Carolina Bluegrass community rallies for Jan Johansson Benefit

Garner, NC — Several North Carolina based Bluegrass artists, bands, and volunteers will come together on November 8th for a benefit concert for North Carolina acoustic musician, Jan Johansson. The concert will take place from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Garner Historic Auditorium located at 742 W. Garner Rd. in Garner, NC.
The following bands and musicians are donating their time to play for the concert: The legendary Bobby Hicks, Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road, Russell Johnson, Julie Elkins, Lindsey Times, Barney Rogers, Roby Huffman & the Bluegrass Cut-ups, Tims Family Band, Samantha Casey & the Bluegrass Jam, Hank Bowman, Jan & Friends and host band Carolina Junction.

About Jan Johansson
Jan Johansson is well-known throughout North Carolina as an accomplished acoustic musician, producer, and music instructor. For a number of years Jan has suffered from heart-related problems, beginning with a massive heart attack at the young age of 36. In 1999, he underwent triple bypass surgery and in 2005 he had a pacemaker installed. Unfortunately, Jan’s health problems have continued. In July, Jan spent a week at UNC Hospital undergoing evaluation for a heart transplant and was recently notified that he is now on the list for a heart transplant.
