Stolen Banjo Alert: Washington DC area and beyond

Dan Mazer’s looking for his banjo — his stolen banjo, last seen in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 18

The stolen banjo is a Deering GDL. It has a walnut neck and resonator., and the neck is one-eighth inch wider than standard, with 24 frets and a radiused fingerboard.

There’s an inlay block on the 21st fret with the word “MAZERTONE” (not “MASTERTONE”).

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band to Ramble from CBS to Levon’s at the “Speed of Life”

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will perform one of the new cuts from their latest album ‘Speed of Life‘ (NGDB Records/Sugar Hill) as well as their classic “Mr. Bojangles” on the CBS Early Show on Saturday, November 21.

Later that night, the group will bring their “deceptively masterful playing” (Washington Post) up north to play Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble in Woodstock, NY…
