ASCAP will be hosting its third Song Camp in Nashville, Tenn., where it will bring together 15 hit songwriters from the worlds of Latin, Urban, Pop and Country music for three days of songwriting, recording and performing. The Song Camp will take place November 16, 17 and 18 at ASCAP’s Nashville offices (Two Music Square West).
Song Camp was established in 2008 by ASCAP’s Latin Department with the goal of creating and supporting new relationships and collaborations among the performing rights organization’s songwriter members. Previous Song Camp have taken place in Miami and Monterrey, Mexico. This is the first time that a cross-genre group of ASCAP writers will participate in the Song Camp series.
“We are excited to bring our third edition of Song Camp to Nashville, home to some of the greatest songwriters in the world,” said Randy Grimmett, Senior Vice President, Domestic Membership. “By opening up Song Camp to songwriters from various genres, we not only provide an opportunity for the writers to connect in a relaxed and friendly setting, but also create an experience where they can share ideas and work together to make music that crosses boundaries.”
The ASCAP songwriters scheduled to participate in the Nashville Song Camp are: Alexander Acha, Jessi Alexander, Aureo Baqueiro, Darrell Brown, Leonel García, Ha*Ash, Yoel Henriquez, Brett James, Stevie J., Natalia Lafourcade, Rivers Rutherford, JD Souther, Chris Tompkins, and Craig Wiseman.
